About LOCR

Lake Oswego Community Rowing is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community rowing club operating from the Charlie S. Brown Water Sports Center on the Willamette River with programs for everyone 12 years old and up.

We are the only boathouse in the Portland area to offer Learn-to-Row and experienced and competitive rowing programs for both youth and adults.

    Home of Portland Collegiate Rowing, an intercollegiate team open to rowers from PSU, PCC, and other Portland colleges and universities. No prior experience needed!

    Learn-to-Row classes are for adult athletes who have no rowing experience or those returning to the sport who want a refresher course. All you need is a desire to learn and have fun!

Meet our Masters rower Emily (37)! I rowed briefly in college but hadn't touched an oar in quite a long time. After having two children, I found myself wishing for several things: friends that understood what I was going through, time to myself, and an opportunity to exercise self-care. I found all of these things when I took the Learn-to-Row in May 2022. I immediately felt welcomed, and everyone on the team understood the impacts that my children have on my attendance. I love the workouts and am starting to feel comfortable in my body again. My favorite time, though, is when I'm in a single rowing under a gorgeous sunrise, alone with my thoughts.
