Portland Collegiate Rowing
LOCR is home to Portland Collegiate Rowing, an intercollegiate team for rowers from Portland State University and Portland Community College.
LOCR is a place for everyone, including college students.
We want to create a hub for collegiate athletes from all schools in the Portland area to come together and row. Whether you are a part of a university club team or an individual looking for a way to stay in shape this year, this program is for you!
Our coaching philosophy is all about being inclusively competitive. This means that new rowers, regardless of your skill level, are encouraged to get on the racecourse by the end of your first three months of rowing. For experienced rowers, while you will be able to race and train in your competitive lineups, you always need to be open to rowing—both in practice and at regattas—with rowers who are new to the sport. You never know when the novice rower you are helping train might be the athlete who will push you to a new competitive level in the future.
Winter training is here!
