LOCR Masters
The LOCR Masters program is for rowers 21 years and older who have successfully graduated from a Learn-to-Row class or who have prior sweep and sculling experience.
Our Masters team is a diverse group of rowers of all experience levels. We compete in local regattas year round and practice on the Willamette River from around March through November. Winter we spend training on ergs (rowing machines) and other fitness equipment in our warehouse gym.
Whether you want to row competitively or recreationally, LOCR welcomes you to the Masters team!

Practice Times
Spring training begins February 24. Masters can attend one of two practice sessions:
M/W/F: 5:30–7 a.m. or 7:30–9 a.m.*
*weather and river conditions are still unpredictable early in the season, so if practices are moved indoors, the times will shift to

Team practice and regatta schedules can also be found on our calendar.

Practice Location
We hope to be on the water for all of spring season, and when the weather and river cooperate we’ll meet at the boathouse for practice. Otherwise, we’ll shift practice indoors to our newly renovated warehouse gym.
Boathouse: 350 Oswego Pointe Dr
Warehouse: 255 Foothills Rd -
Regatta Schedule
9/28: Head of the Dog (Portland, OR)
10/12: American Lake Fall Classic (Seattle, WA)
10/26: Portland Fall Classic (Vancouver, WA)
11/2 (TBD): Head of the Lake (Seattle, WA)
Billing
Masters classes (age 21+) are billed as a flat monthly rate paid on the first of each month and prorated for the initial signup month. If you wish to end or pause your membership at anytime, reach out to us at info@lorowing.com.
Masters classes are $150/month. This includes three coached practices a week, monthly evening Crew & Brews, and scheduled holiday and weekend rows (additional rows are determined on a seasonal basis).
Regatta and trip fees are billed separately.
Open Rows
Beginning in fall season (September–November), additional practice times called “open rows” are included in masters monthly dues. These sessions are staffed by coaches teaching concurrent learn-to-row or youth classes, so while coaches will be present for safety, they won’t be providing specific coaching for crews on the water.
For open rows, masters can reserve shells in iCrew to practice specific lineups. A crew should plan on rowing in their reserved shell, and if any rigging adjustments to the boat are made (e.g. rigging a 4+ as a 4x), the crew should re-rig the boat to its previous rigging after the open row unless prior authorization is obtained from the coach.
Fall open rows are at the following times:
Tuesday & Thursday: 5:30–7 a.m. & 7:30–9 a.m.
Saturday: 7:30–10 a.m.**
**Shell reservation may be limited for this session, as it’s during a regular high school practice time.
